Thanks for the route tip. I ran 97 to 395 to get on 90. Just hit it and decided to quick stop my 30 at the 3 hours mark so maybe I can get in a groove over the next 8 and click off some miles.

Since you were comming out of he Klamath Falls area, that is about the fastest way to get to 90.Broke Down 69 Thanks this. -
@Broke Down 69, I'm sorta ashamed of ya.
You let yourself run out of smokes? Man it seems to me that smokes is an essential item, perhaps behind water, but ahead of food! You should have at least a three day supply of food and water, but at least a week's supply of coffin nails.
Even though I don't smoke any more, cigars was something I always kept a good supply of.Airborne, austinmike, passingthru69 and 3 others Thank this. -

Hey @Big Don glad to hear from you again. I will admit disgust with myself over the Marlboro Affair. I have learned a valuable lesson and it won't happen again.
On to today. I took on three separate mountain ranges. Forth of July Pass. Lookout Pass and a downgrade that should have a name but I missed it if it did. 25 mph truck speed all the way down. Truthfully, it wasn't all that bad, kind of like Mt. Eagle back home...7th low and let her drift, only touched the brakes twice. It was, however, one long grade. Ended up with 609 for the day, not bad considering load and terrain.
This trip out has been different from the last. Not having the weather issues and attendant terror, I have had the opportunity to take in the sights and scenery and I have been stunned by the rugged beauty of the West. Snow covered mountains yielding to high Plains. Gorges and passes so steep and narrow they're almost claustrophobic. Swift running rivers and wildlife of every conceivable type. I suppose we all understand God in our own way and it's in times and places like this that I can sense something so much greater than myself. While this lap hasn't been without its trials, I can say that it has been the best trip in my young career.
I hope y'alls day was as good as mine.RStewart, Drive-a-Mack, austinmike and 5 others Thank this.
