The way that is worded, they may or may not give you until 8/1/2018 to get compliant. I am going to bet that if they have enough people wanting to lease a truck from them, your time there may be a lot less than stated. I was told that I would have until 7/31/2018 regardless, but it was a "verbal clarification" and goes counter to what is stated in the letter. I don't think it was an oversight. I think they gave themselves a way to end leases early if it suits them and will not hesitate to do so.

You looking to go O/O elsewhere or thinking about getting a company job? (Not necessarily a BIG company)

company driver.......frankly, there's not much point in being an O/O anymore....the risks are beginning to outweigh the rewards and, honestly, the difference between being an O/O and a company driver are beginning to diminish.

So, anyway, got an 09 Cascadia for sale now.......

What it means is when the "New Contract/Agreement" comes out soon then they won't renew their relationship with those who do not meet the requirements and put on CMS.

I wonder what would happen if I told them I couldn't afford it by the time my lease was up but I would be able to do it by August 1st?

Not that it matters because I'm not putting CMS on my truck, just curious what they would say. I may have to ask my ICA about it.

I'm pretty positive that any ending ICOA will be renewed to the deadline date. Otherwise, you potentially have people getting kicked to the curb in 6 months, and I promise the lawsuits will start stacking up.

I still think a class action could possibly give current contractors a chance at a settlement that will cover the cost of an upgrade. Wishful thinking? Possibly.

It means that if you don't have a 2010 or newer then you have to update and meet all requirements if a new agreement comes out before July 2018

The chassis that Schneider lease are death traps. Always something...tandems won't slide, brakes suck, light is out, tires suck...it doesn't surprise me that they don't care about the tractors that guys down there use.
