New CDL and getting insurance

Nice, congrats! How much? What was the process like? Who did u go thru? I want answers!! Haha. Im looking at a cascadia right now thru penske for 41k 444k miles.

 

We arent getting snarky man. Just trying to get some advice, like i said ive heard people say we can do it and others who say we cant. Whats YOUR take on it?

 

My first friend who runs 4 trucks started about 15 years ago. Got his cdl bought a truck and went 400 miles for his first run.
2nd guy who is his cousin did the exact same thing, he started 3 years ago. He paid 12k for his first year of insurance.

 

Since day 1. Both never worked for a company. They did give similar advice to some of u guys. Said it might be a good idea to work for a company n get some experience. But they also said if i wanted to go right out and get my own truck and authority that it is possible as well.
I have heard their bad stories as well, breakdowns, big repairs and lots of headache. But the reward and freedom in itself is already worth it imo.
