Can't make 2500 a month? What kind of drugs are you on? That's only a little over $600 a week and you say that is not possible? Why are you being so negative in your response also? You want to sit there and discourage someone from doing a job that you are doing yourself. Everyone has horror stories about the trucking industry for one reason or another, but pushing your bitterness onto another person is just plain sad. In this person's situation yes a refresher course MAY be required, to make a blanket statement as to every employer requires a refresher course is asinine at best. Are you even a truck driver or have you watched smokey and the bandit or convoy too many times tripping on some bad weed?

He is leaving a good job with good benefits and his family to bend over for the mega screwing. So you bet I'll tell him the truth. Once he is off the training truck and he has a company who knows how to dispatch. It shouldn't be a problem, but at the cost of decent benefits at your old company and being off 4 days a week and still being able to save money and pay for his house. To come out here and be home 3 days a month working 70 hours a week. In this no job security world of big belly big rigging.RollingRecaps and SESteve83 Thank this. -

Steve, if you didn't have the little kids I would say what are you waiting for. But your current job is paying the bills and your able to save money also. Remember Its Never to late to get into trucking there is no age limit. I have a 6 year old grandson whom I miss dearly and would love to spend more time with. Only you and your wife can make this decision. You being able to return to your factory job if trucking doesn't work for you is a distinct advantage.
SESteve83 and Protein Hauler Thank this. -
Companies do get a tax credit for hiring people with no skills, who have been out of work, or are from targeted groups like veterans, disabled, youth, etc. -
BostonTanker, daf105paccar, Protein Hauler and 1 other person Thank this.
