It's not only price. It's fast, easy to use, safe, and has a proven 60+ year history.

I'm suspecting one of our European friends will post here soon with a different set up that is far superior.

While that's a cool little set up, and i can see how it would make things a bit easier when you are out in the bush all by yourself. It's not necessary for what we do here. A pintle hook works just fine when hooking up a unit at a fed ex yard. Maybe the guys out in the oil patches could find value in this system, but for most it is over kill.

here every truck have it ,even trucks that would be never used to pull trailer
pintle hook is not legal only army can use it to comply with nato, although they use normal hook like on video. it cost me 330€ from factory , aftermarket is 450-500€

setup from video would not be road legal, as there is lot of play

For on highway type trucking id rather have a pintle hook. Simple trouble free operation. Heck, other than lubricating the latch every once in a while, there is no maintenence involved. But if i was constantly having to drop and hook the back trailer on unlevel ground, id at least look into that system.

Doesn't mean they don't still work.

Not everything in life has to be stupid-proofed.
