Just jump out and give them a whoopin before they have a chance to write a ticket.

Yes modern technology that gauge helps. Is it calibrated every so often?

Idk. It just shows the psi in the air bags on the drives. I love it tho. Rarely need a cat with this. I really only scale to double check myself. Never been heavy with it.

Is it common for drivers to cat scale on every load?

Some do. If I'm expecting to pick up 43k you bet your ### ill have a cat ticket. i don't scale every load. It depends on the weight my load gauge and where I'm running. If it's just a pa to ny load I won't bother. I so t even balance it out ill just slide my tandem all the way up. ( no scales) if i run it into Virginia or north Carolina I'll defiantly make 100% sure I'm balanced and perfectly legal with a cat ticket showing that.

And be at the posted speed BEFORE the sign - not after.
Also, don't start speeding up before the higher speed limit sign.

Those are the places where they get you, in those small towns.

About a year or so ago, I came across a solo truck driver working for TransAm. He mentioned to me and a few other people that he kept his cruise control on at 59 M.P.H., along with staying in the right hand lane as much as possible, to drastically avoid the possibility of getting speeding tickets.

The driver also mentioned that he FREQUENTLY checked and pre-tripped his truck, both on and off the record, to be absolutely sure that EVERYTHING was in good working order. The driver mentioned that one never knows when D.O.T. is going to pull a level 1 inspection.

The driver kept both the inside and outside of his truck VERY CLEAN & ORGANIZED.
I actually saw the inside of his truck. It was INCREDIBLY ORGANIZED & SPOTLESS.

    NOTE:
At the time I saw the inside of his truck, he mentioned that it was EXCEPTIONALLY RARE for him to let someone see the inside of his truck. It felt good that he felt that he could trust me to see the inside of his truck.

Even though I am not a betting man, I would be willing to bet that this driver's logs and paperwork were all in EXCELLENT order.

God bless every American and their families! God bless the U.S.A.!

Would keep this in mind when I go over the road and do this. Would think this would be the best way to not get a ticket. I hear that there when you go to small towns the speed limit changes are drastic like your going 60 on the freeway and it is like 20 or so like they kind of want to write tickets up.
