Al, fixed. Another factory reset and this time I seen the map updates being downloaded and verified. After they were updated I went in and uninstalled the updates on both RM Services and Launcher. Rebooted and the reinstalled along with the Truck GPS update. Everything seems to be working now. Thanks for your time.

I finally got my tablet to update, but now when attempting to route between St. Louis and Mt Crawford, VA on I64 I get a "No legal route" message. Since when is I64 not a truck route?

Prior to update it routed just fine.

I think I found issue. I64 doesn't exist where it intersects in Haubstadt, IN. I'll reset my updates, looks like something got corrupted.

Sounds like you have some corrupted DCA's (Map files). Please do the attached and make sure you are on a High Speed Wi-Fi connection.

    Thanks,

If you did the map update for the Tablet and you are not sure of if you got a good Download, instead of reloading the maps again which will take 3.9gb of your Data Plan, do the attached and you can start a "Conversation" with me to get my E-Mail so you can send me the file. I will let you know if you got a good map download by doing a cross check on the Check Sums.

    Thanks,
    Mark

I spoke to RM rep, he gave me the code to get into the advanced settings to do the repair. 69 corrupted files...ouch lol. Thanks for the reply though!

no no no... do the MD5 procedure and start a conversation with me so I can give you my E-Mail address. How are you going to fix corrupted map files when you do not have a reference to correct them against? It is wise if you have corrupted map files to simply do the download again.... but first do the PDF in post 3537...

I work with these units daily and I put lots of tablets thru different tests and found that a clean download is better if you have corrupted files. Gives you a better piece of mind.

    Thanks,,
    Mark

And that is why I spoke to a RM tech. I didn't need to do any crazy procedures, just go in and use the built in repair tool. It was quick and easy, less than an hour and my system was back up and running with no corrupted files. I honestly don't care what your experience is, the recommendation from the manufacturer holds the most weight.

As far as how to get a reference, the system does that when you run the built in checks, hence me knowing exactly how many corrupted files I had. I just needed the password to access the advanced settings in order to perform the repair.

Okay... so you come on this support site asking for my help. You could care less that I am also an RM Employee at a level 5 support. You could care less that I have been with the TND since 2008 and helped designed the first models.

They are not crazy procedures. They are tried and true methods. I test daily with tablets and TND's in a variety of situations.

Hence, next time you would like help just call RM CS first.

I know how the system works. I test the "system" all the time.

I test Beta Software all the time also for the TND's and Tablet's.
