I will not be deleting my account, but I am going to take some time off of this forum and use my CPAP a few days and get this straightened out. Thanks for all the kind responses and help. I will be on sometime later maybe.

If the insurance won't pay much for the cpap machine, ask at a medical supply store for a used machine, one that has been out and the person didn't like it or need it. Your wife or girlfriend will tell you if you have sleep apena, if you do, you will stop breathing during the night for a few seconds and then gulp, start breathing again. It is these episodes that wake you from REM (rapid eye movement) sleep where you actually sleep and rest the best. NASTC has a sleep study you can do at home, you wear a jacket that records how you sleep.

Your new machine will report its use by wifi to the medical provider.

Just ignore all the crazy comments. The new CPAP can report the usage/ compliance to your DME Durable Medical Equipment supple. That the people that sell the CPAP and the people insurance has to pay for the machine. Insurance want to make sure people use them if they are paying for it. So they usually except to see 4 hour per night to be considered compliance. That's were the wireless modem come in. That how ResMed works, they have the modem built into the CPAP box and it uses the cell phone system to send the data back every morning. The data goes back to your DME. I don't know but Resperonics the Dreamstaion I believe has the modem as an option and they can hook one on. They may even add it while insurance is paying so they can get the data. Then they would takes the modem off, unless you wanted to pay for it or something. They may also use Bluetooth and say a phone app. I just know ResMed since I have one.

It's nice to have the data send to your DME because I believe when it time for your D.O.T physical say next year. You can call the DME and have them send the sleep report to your D.O.T doctor. Their is a removable card that has your data also, but you would have to plan out a little more actually go to your DME have then read the card then send it your D.O.T doctor. That's why I like the ResMed it has the modem in every cpap but both are good machines.

I had trouble this year my first year on CPAP getting the sleep report for my D.O.T but now I know were my sleep data has been going. I'm just calling my DME next year.
