Agreed. Would be off the charts expensive. Check into this before you even think of applying for a number. Might save yourself 300.

Well guys in their 20's will most likely look at higher rates, but any age applying for a new MC will also face higher rates. That's just the way it works until you get established your first year or so then they drop. Just get some quotes before you get the MC. I'd be surprised if you find any quotes under 15k a year. Remember to ask for a million liability and 100k cargo.

Wow!I mean it is still doable for sure u wasn't expecting that kind of hit 1st year. Will have to renegotiate my loan haha. I have a strong cali connect so I had determined going new was the best option after several weeks of number crunching. And of course carb rules... lots of guys who have been around tell me to stick with pre egr anyways. I guess that will save me 104k the first 1.5 years by going older with new motor and tranny if I have to pay anywhere close to 20k my first year for insurance I would only make 23k my first year under the assumption everything goes right.. that's to risky. I really really appreciate the information. I am starting step deck and flat bed leading into heavy haul the first 1.5 years with a strong connection I have. Next questions are does that change your 100k cargo insurance quote? Since I will not be going new with this info. Buy older freightliner classic or t660 with 600 horse 18 speed or w900 w 18 speed? I am thankful you have taken time to talk about this insurance

Can anyone here help me out. I'm a new venture. I want to get loads from wakefern, I've heard they pay pretty good. How do I go about it? What are the requirements and who should I speak to? I tried calling in and I keep getting transferred everywhere and then I get an answer machine. Just need to be pointed in the right direction lol. If anyone can help my email is Jsalas3010@yahoo.com and thanks in advance.

I'd say don't worry about having a new mc#. We all start somewhere. That being said, you can start off the boards for finding work. Over time you should develop some ongoing business relationships and have steady lanes you run. Running completely wild as a 1 truck show is very difficult since you are always the new guy. Never over promise on something you know can't be done. Promise exactly what you can do and do exactly what you promise. Start out with a paid for older truck if you can. Insurance will be less and a large payment will always be creeping up on you until you have ample good paying work. Above all be professional. Don't try to be the cheapest guy out there. I'd even say sign on under a % company to learn what lanes pay what rates. Without that knowledge you stand to leave A LOT of money on the table. Figure out how you will buy fuel at a good price and use your brain...it will save you thousands. Keep us posted..
