This whole idea of a "brokerless load board" that's supposed to change rates is living in a dream world anyway. How's it going to clear out all of the excess trucks? And so these direct shippers aren't looking for any savings by ditching middlemen (of course they would - you think you are going to get that broker markup? LoL) and also don't have a clue how cheap most trucks really are? Hmmmm....

2500 miles. When I ran all expenses that's what I got.DUNE-T Thanks this. -
Wanted to post this for few weeks, but kept forgeting. I would not have done this load for any money, simply because I dont haul over 35k in WV and VA mountains, but this guy just pissed me of with his email and I answered him. It picked up on Friday
-broker "
CARLETON, MI 48117 @ 1330 EST
20 Crates of auto glass
44233 Lbs.
Delver on Sunday @ 1300 EST
ELKIN, NC 28621
532 Miles
Pays $ 750"
-Me "I can do it for $1750"
-Broker "Over $3 a mile not going to happen. I move this every day for $750
-Me"People who do it for you for $1.5 and waste 3 days for $750 gross revenue should be banned from this business"
-Broker"
I can say the same for $3 per mile
-Me "
Umm, no, this load ties up truck for 3 days and has Sunday delivery, with basically no chance for a reload.
Miles don't matter, time matters. 500 miles load, which delivers next day, is not the same as 500 miles load, which delivers two days later. And I feel sorry for those people who don't understand that and charge accordingly"
-Me "
If you were an owner operator and had two loads to choose from, one picking up on Monday delivering Tuesday and another one with the same amount of miles delivering Wednesday, which one would you get?
The same is with your load, not only you are offering a very cheap rate going to a slow state, you also want to tie up a driver and his equipment for few days, without offering any compensation for it"
Broker has not responded.
I occasionally get loads from that shipper in Carleton thru a couple of different brokers. They usually pay $1.8-$2. For Sunday delivery it would be easy a $3 run. So how much percentage is that mother####er trying to keep for himself?

But how is it he ####s somebody over who willingly accepted the load for that rate? Is he supposed to say he's sorry, made a mistake, and here is $300 more? That's crazy. Are you telling me you would give away money to some dummy like that?
