I do not understand why anyone is hiring anyone without having a lawyer in the first place. Are people that cheap?

If he knew that person was in his truck, he would have to have him insured. If he didn't have the rider insured, his insurance company is going to nail him. If he did, throw that driver under the bus ASAP. I would definitely lawyer up.Broke Down 69 Thanks this. -
Insurance may pay then if his driver let a friend drive the truck without the owner knowing. Maybe insurance will sue the driver and the guy driving. Assuming the owner gave permission for the rider and had the extra insurance for rider. That paper the rider would sign and the driver of the truck, would probably say something about only the employee is only one allowed to drive the truck. Then the insurance company can sue the driver and the rider. Because the owner did everything he could possibly do. Then it all falls into the driver for letting someone drive the truck that was not allowed.
