    That rig had been there since last wed 3/1/17. I asked the girl at the kwikfill about on wed night. She said it happened sometime in the morning.
    It was still there tonight around 7:15 pm.

    Yes. Just be sure to learn how the system works to they don't mess with you too much.

    And be very careful about dedicated accounts. It may seem sweet on the surface, but sour on the inside.

    The hardest part and most dangerous part of driving is complying with federal dot regs that make is hard to drive safely.

    The idiots who wrote the regs didn't know what they were doing. ie: after 14 hrs I might not be tired (I might have even been sleeping some of those 14 hrs, but now the law sez I need to sleep.

    I might not be tired, so I have to sit there for the next 10 hrs twiddling my thumbs. Then after 10 hrs Ive gotta get driving again to make up for lost time, but now, because I had to sit there for 10 hrs, I'm now tired. These hos regs are counter productive.

    No.

    (Please bear with me....)

    U get up. Dispatcher hands you sheet says run through the night get that 1500 miles out of the way be there tomorrow at 8. You know better than to say no. So you go to safety, present mission impossible which is always possible to runlegal with new appt times etc

    US Laws have been passed to protect you the driver from being coreced into driving illegally. YOU hve no right to take off and run ilegal.

    But Jobs are precious to you, there is no mandate proteting you from getting fired over refual to commit a over hours criome. You will in time with the rigght due process get i back, but by then your dispatcher and staff woul be so poosion.....}}

    We just loaded 6 pallets for another stop tomorrow. We run 550 miles in 10 hours if possible then stop. If it's 456 or whatever miles at tthe 10 thour on THE DOT. Saving the 11th for really bad searching.

    Dispatches will just have to take good medicine to handle the emotional swings that get into the way of doing good business ith our valued customers.

    Hardest part of OTR or trucking.....
    1. Leaving the family for the week and seeing your kids actually grow a bit more every time you come home. Missing out on family activities.
    2. Dealing with hours of boredom and trying to stay awake while driving. That was my biggest challenge when I started 16 years ago. It's an acquired taste.
    3. Trying to keep your d*** off truckstop toilet seats.

    In my mind, the worst part is coming off the big road to get into some kind of potentially nasty delivery location, especially if it's an area you don't know. While some regard that as an adventure of sorts, I've been running LTL for too long now, and a sense of adventure can get you in a world of trouble here.
