It's hard, but someone has to do it, so I do.

Short of having an APU or something like it.
Having a good big inverter is a wonderful thing.
3000 watts or better. sure will run a number of things.

Preparing food in the truck is good. It's particularly good to have the ability to do it, and the stuff to do it with. But I'm also in the crowd that says ya gotta get out of the truck and have a sit down meal at a restaurant once in a while. If for no other reason, than to see a smiling face, even if it is a forced professional smile to get a bigger tip.
The other thing that kept me sane while out there, was that there was never a 24 hour period went by when I didn't talk to my wife, nor more than a week without talking to my kids.

If you had a shaker or a volvo, you wouldn't even have to lean forward.

When ever possible, the independents was where I tried to spend my money and time. Yep had to fuel at the chains, used what services was needed and moved on if at all possible. Some places, you just have no choice. then I try to find good rest areas or good hiding spots.

OK, what you need to do, is invent a "gear button poker.) Now I'm not talking about modifying a lumper thumper, or a back scratcher, I'm talking about a brand new invention! Would allow you to push any button you wanted, without having to lean forward. Patent it, and retire from trucking! I'm pretty sure that it would sell in the truck stops.

I own a 2016 Volvo 670. Mine doesn't shake, it glides down the road like a Cadillac, man.
