Abilene Motor Express....A New Place To Call Home

All the kitty loads I have had were supposed to be preloaded, but were hours long live loads instead. The little gas station nearest there on the main road doesn't exactly have truck parking, but I have squeezed in there a couple times and slept with no issue, if you ever run low on your 14.

I have compiled a short ****list of regulars that generally just screw us drivers around and kitty litter is 2nd on that list. I don't go to any of them expecting the loads to be as dispatched or that I will be there less than 5 hrs.

 

My first trip to the kitty litter plant was a real clownshow for a variety of reasons, but at least the pre-loaded trailer was actually pre-loaded and waiting for me.

Subsequent trips have not gone as smoothly.

I'm now at Niagra Bottling outside of Indy, getting a live load. Load assignment gave my appointment as 8:00pm tonight, but there was a freeform message to me on my QC telling me to pick it up in the morning after 8:00. So I got here at 7:30.

The guy in the guard shack asked if I could haul a load that weighs 45,460lbs. I told him I didn't think so. He's gonna take a pallet off, he says. I think I'm gonna do myself a favor and scale out this bad boy before hitting the road to Byhalia.

 

If you are in the NE, stay safe... looks nasty.

Can't imagine trying to drive with 25" of snow all around the truck.... ugh.

I'm stuck in Cheektowaga, NY after breaking down three times in three days due to a coolant leak.

Before that I was stuck 8.5 hours getting a pipe in my DEF system unclogged...

 

Hey all... long time.. but...
what are you (especially those that have been at this awhile) doing about per diem on your taxes? The 25% that Abilene didn't tell the IRS is noticeable and I don't want to double dip and end up in John Boy trouble..

 

Figure out what Abilene paid you in per fine then multiply the days you were gone by 59. If that more than what your pee down pay write off the difference if it's less than you owe taxes on the difference

Meanwhile in pa......been watchin trucks get stuck trying to drive around in snow thats generally up to the lugnuts. Hopefully they will attempt to push the ts later on once its done snowing.

Finally ventured out. 13 inches of snow in front of the truck. So no point in trying to even get out at the moment.
