    Hey guys,

After being denied by TMC (Probably a good thing) I was offered an opportunity to learn and drive for YRC international. This forum has been full of resources for me. So, Id 'like to give back what has been given to me.

Feel free to ask any questions about my journey.

I don't start school for about a month but i'll keep you up on the hiring process.

Their in house program is NOT PAID.

Upon completion start at .46 cents a mile pulling doubles.
and $18.17 for anything done besides driving.

I was not offered a local position. OTR Home every 3-4 days. "On call"

    100% paid benefits.

    Teamsters union.

tscottme, rabbiporkchop and SHOJim Thank this.

Yes, unpaid 4 weeks for CDL. Once you get in the trainer truck for 6 weeks its paid at your hourly detention rate. I was offered 18.17 per hour.

    rabbiporkchop Thanks this.

I would stay away from ABF. They are pretty much "manned up" at the moment and they have a deceptive practice of constantly "hiring" new drivers with little or no intention of actually working them.

Because their hiring process is so complex and time consuming, they gotta' keep that pool of available drivers at the ready... just in case.

YRC, although they pay a bit less with both their salary and their pension contributions, will actually put you to steady work and they would definitely be the better choice.

Yep, I figured that out. I applied a month ago had zero response. They are only 15 minutes away from me. So it was a no brainier. I followed up with emails and phone calls to no reply. So, I moved on. YRC even though I know i'll need to work and it'll be some time before I can get some gravy runs.. I'm okay with paying my dues.
Better then going with swift or something. (In my opinion)

Also, A&S Kinard wants me as well. They offered a hotel room and such during training. Any insight on them? Just curious. @Chinatown
