I realize that this is a resurrected thread, but...

I pull a box as a company driver (45 footer at that) and come close to 2K gross every week. And that's a 5.5 (average) day week, home every night but one. Never come close to hitting my 70.

One day I'll move over to the car hauling side. One day...

I would have to see that check. What are you hauling? If you make that much you have a very rare job.

If you like what you are doing stay put! If you don't carhauling can be great eventually. 5 years ago February I walked away from $100,000+ with a top notch company holding a steering wheel. I worked terrible hours/days which I grew to hate. I started my car haul career with Jack Cooper in Ft. Wayne In. It was rough at first, but as I learned my new trade I grew to love it. Now I have "Bankers" hours because I own my own rig and depending on how hard I want to work the money is better or much better than my past earnings. Even though I love what I do, carhaul is tough on the body. What's a few aches and pains and scrapes on the body?

I agree with you! I won't even take a ride to fetch a unit most days unless my knee is hurting or its raining hard. But I carry a knee brace with me, a big box of band aids and a very big bottle of Aleve, because I may need all 3 in the same day. Even with more knots on my head than this time 5 years and 1 month ago, I still love my career choice.

Just a friend's company. Nothing special, 40ish trucks on the road. Where I am spending my days waiting for carhaul rates to get back to where they need to be.

No disrespect meant to Moore drivers or the company itself, just my observation. I load alongside Moore drivers in Toledo and Lordstown. They grew very quickly by taking the garbage few other companies wanted. When they got in at Toledo , I recall a Fleet Car dispatcher saying they can have all the central PA, WV, NC freight because FC drivers hated it. Now Moore loads at Lordstown with tons of big Ford and Dodge pickups going to where else but central PA and WV. Definitely not quick and easy money loads. Not to forget, Toledo is hit or miss. You may have to wait hours to get a parking spot to load.#### Chrysler!

Terry, I doubt rates are going to go much higher with the new brokers hitting central on a regular basis. Now they aren't just a one man outfit brokering loads but big freight brokers are jumping in. TQL, sunteck just to name a few.
