11,000 company trucks running 135000 miles = 1.485 Billion miles as year. That works out to $2.60 a mile, or $1.75 a mile to an IC.
That's using the entire $4B from the article. Take IC and broke down loads out, and other revenue sources and the math more or less works out to what y'all see. -
That probably includes revenue from rail/intermodal operations but who knows how the number all work out. They are a part of Schneider national while Schneider bulk carriers is a separate entity
-
Per DOT filing I read all truckload miles driven for 2014 were stated as 785,600,000 which includes all trucks running sni dot numbers.
That's how it reads, true or not is questionable. -
But if we're running around 12000 tractors - company, IC, intermodal- that works out to 65-70,000 miles per truck per year. @rickybobby may be able to do that and survive but the rest of us can't.
I know GB division is supposed to average 400 loaded miles per truck per "day" (minus days in shop or unassigned to a driver). Assume each truck sits idle for 65 days a year, and 12,000 trucks you still get 1.4 billion miles. -
Then Somebody is under reporting or the info is just wrong.
Either way the "Profit" they show of 156.9 million to me is a lot of money but compared to 4 Billion in revenue I don't think that's a good margin.
But what do I know I'm a dumb Schneider driver according to the cb!
Maybe it's a time for a shakeup in GB!
I mean as a small time investor with no say what so ever, if the Profit margin is 3.9% I don't see any money for dividends. Let alone a return on investment.
I'm thinking it's not going to be a pretty IPO. -
You guys are speculating on the IPO and none of you guys even go near the part of how they are spending 1/3 of the money on CHASSIS trailers lol??? Now you know where they plan to grow in the future.
I just hauled the heaviest load 80300 I've had since being here on a 94xxxx trailer. I was praying it wasn't rusted all the way through...scythe08 Thanks this. -
This is why I will never invest in a trucking company.
I believe most trucking companies out here, the large ones anyway, are operating at around a 1% profit margin. -
Gentleroger for CEO!scythe08, rickybobby and TennMan Thank this.

This says that TL revenue was $2 Billion. Not sure if that includes bulk and intermodal, pretty sure it excludes IC. Rough math puts the revenue per paid mile at $1.70.TennMan Thanks this.
