Hopefully soon afterwards though.

Well its all set now.
Finished my hpe early in the week and got my confirmation yesterday.
I will be in the October 20th 30 day class.
Flying in Sunday night.
Was told this is one of the bigger classes this year.
May be staying at the econo lodge down the street.
I applied to the company online one night around 11pm, Sandy called me back to get the ball rolling first thing the next day.
I was kinda surprised at first. As this was a company I really had my mind set on.
H4L, I didn't know the company used any Auto shift trucks. Is the truck your getting on the newer side?
Glad you made it home safe.

I thought the same thing when I first checked into them, but I felt a lot better about them after I spoke to a recruiter. -
I'm figuring on flying in the 17th. Cheaper airfare. Not sure where I'll stay, though.

I was told they had any where from 2 to 4 autoshifts they were testing out. Seeing if the trucks would be worth it, on fuel savings, power and cut down on maintence cost. They were also looking to see if they would be safer than the manual transmission. I am not sure if they have made their minds up yet on these. The trucks I believe are 2 years old at the most. My truck number is in the 1800's and they go upto 2000's. So it's not that old, still pretty new as far as I know. I will update on it once I get there.
I got lucky as far as only being a few miles from the terminal. I will still park my truck there since I don't really have anywhere to park it at my house.
Now just beware that no company is perfect, there is always going to be issues that come up. I just think from my experience and from talking to other drivers here at W/S that the people who work here are easy to talk to and seem to generally care. They really believe that the drivers are the ones who keep the company going so they will do whatever they can to help. My point is that if you keep positive and notify the company of any issues and give them time to explain or correct the issue, you will be better off.
I will let you all know about my truck when I get there. Hope it's at least in good shape. Be Safe. -
Thanks for the heads up on the testing. -
The HPE test is squatting, carrying weight, going up and down stairs, stuff like that right?
Shouldn't be a problem since I have been climbing in and out of new trucks for the last 12 years on the assembly line. -
I just did my drug test and HPE today. I had to squat for 3 minutes, stand with arms stretched out at eye level for 3 minutes, step up 18" five times in a row, lift a 70lb box to waist height 5 times, lift a 40lbs box to shoulder height 5 lbs, walk on a treadmill for 5 minutes, touch your toes and hold that position for 3 min, push and pull 75 or so lbs for about 10 feet, carry a 60lb box for 25 feet,.... and some basic range of motion stuff. It was more than I bargained for, but thankfully not outside of my abilities....LOL
I'm scheduled to go to the 10 day in Sayreville, NJ next week. I'm flying there Sunday. They were gonna send me a bus ticket, but I asked them to reimburse me the cost of a bus ticket to help offset my airfare.
I'm surprised they're sending you to Montana instead of NJ.... unless you're going for the 30 day training?? -
Thanks. Kinda what I figured it was going to be. Should be no problem.
Yes, I am going for the 30 day deal. Good luck. See you on the roads!
