Be sure to fit some quality time off in there. Nothing wrong with maximizing income but you will burn out of you don't get a break on occasion.

I strongly second this thought! I've seen way too many folks, in many different industries become slaves to income, with the thought of "when I retire then I'll have time to do" (whatever.) Except they either die before retiring, or their health is so poor they no longer want to, nor are they able to, do anything!

Yowzers, man. 3980 miles in 66 hrs and that includes your previous loading, unloading, strapping, unstrapping, fueling and all?

What's that, like a 68 mph average? You really are a super trucker ;-)

When I ran linehaul d&h for the last company I worked for, when things were really busy, I'd run out 70, then recap and go home for 3 or 4 days.

Wasn't too bad because I always had at least 3 or 4 nights at home in between.

Hammer down, 75 mph nonstop. Pounding down coffee and 5 hour energy. That's my story and you ain't moving me off it.

Wow had the scenery changed out here. Except for the very highest elevations, all the snow is gone and green is the dominant color. Poor folks around the Hines valley are just flooded out though. Hundreds of acres of farmland has been transformed into a lake. The only ones benefiting from it are the thousands of ducks that have taken up residence there. Got in and unloaded about 1100 today and have been relaxing and napping since, storing up energy for a big final push to carry me home. Going to be very close. Right now it looks like I may run out of time around the Tennessee/Kentucky border, but I may be able to pull it off by changing my run schedule out of Mellen to be a bit more traffic friendly. Stay tuned, this could get interesting.

Hope y'all had a good day.

Challenge over. My receiver doesn't unload on Friday or Saturday so running in would just be pointless especially considering the lack of parking in the area. Parked at the Pilot here on 97, and thinking about what to do for the next day. There's an awesome little brew pub right down the road that has outstanding food so I may end up there for lunch or dinner. Dang sure ain't eating no Subway. For now, a nap.

Yeah, but I'm thinking about leaving tomorrow and sort of slowly heading that way. Stop along the way in Northern Idaho and Western Montana to enjoy the sights and scenery, maybe take a picture or two. Not often can you be a paid tourist when you drive for a living...might as well take the chance when it pops up.

And yet how many times do we see posts from people saying something like, "I just retired from a job I've been on X number of years. Now I'm going to drive truck, so that I can travel and see the country, and make money too...."
I knew a guy that had his golf clubs, and fishing poles in his truck at all times. I guess being an O/O does have some advantages...:)
