A bunch of our drivers use them in an effort to protect themselves and hopefully save their jobs if something bad happens that wasn't their fault.
Which LH/LTL companies are NOT running dash cams?

What I cant and wont tolerate is a camera that watches and listens to me. Unacceptable.archangelic peon, Bob Dobalina and Pintlehook Thank this. -
I'll bet you the carriers that installed these cameras catch a pretty significant insurance premium break........ but fail to raise driver pay. The race to the bottom continues.
bbechtel16, Mike2633, Pintlehook and 3 others Thank this. -
ABF Freight does not have driver facing camera's.
Estes Trucking does not have driver facing camera's at this point in time.
Spoke to members of their safety department today.
Both have road facing camera's and lane deviation technology, but I can live with that. No issues with a camera watching the road.
So
FedEx Ground
FedEx Freight
SAIA
Conway/Expo
R&L Carriers
all have driver facing camera's in their trucks.
Old Dominon
UPS Ground
UPS Freight
USF Reddaway
ABF Freight
YRC Freight
Estes Trucking
Do not have driver facing camera's in their trucks.
This is the current list I have so far.Last edited: Mar 31, 2017

The thing I see about the company installed cameras, is that while they have the capability of saving your butt, the company has full control and access to them. Now you know that there is no way they are going to pay people to watch all of them, all the time. You would think they would only look at them if there an incident.
But say you get on the wrong side of management, and they want to get rid of you. Then they have the capability of monitoring every thing you do. And since we are all human, sooner or later, you're going to make a mistake. I have no doubt that these cameras will NOT be a driver's friend.bbechtel16, Toomanybikes, JV_620 and 3 others Thank this. -
