exactly. Sure no one is going to sit there all day, every day and watch you. I get that. What bothers me is the ability to live audit any driver, any camera in any truck at any given time.

And I also don't like the fact I can't have a private conversation in my truck on my phone with a friend, co-worker or another trucker, because I have to worry about who is listening and what they may or may not hear. Don't need that stress at all. I feel like I'm in god #### Communist Russia.

doesn't matter. They have the ability to live audit you at any time without notice. Meaning, under the guise of "testing their equipment", they can pull up your camera and your truck at any time, any place and see what you're doing and they can say it was done under the premise of just making sure that the camera was working properly.

How do I know this? I've already had my boss do it to me and I have text messages to prove it. They may not record full time, but I don't like the idea that someone can just "check up on me" whenever they want. I drive a truck so I don't have to sit in an office and have someone looking over my back, criticizing everything I do or don't do. I have a clean safety record at my job, no accidents, no tickets, no failed inspections, no safety violations, never been counseled for anything, my e-logs (and paper logs when our e-logs are malfunctioning) are perfect and up to date. My track record should speak for itself.

Would you stake your life on that statement? It may be correct, or it may not be correct. But if they don't currently, they will eventually. Treat that S O B like it is on and recording your every moment.

And you, my friend, are the perfect example of what I was talking about, when I said "But say you get on the wrong side of management, and they want to get rid of you. Then they have the capability of monitoring every thing you do. And since we are all human, sooner or later, you're going to make a mistake. I have no doubt that these cameras will NOT be a driver's friend."

    100% TRUE

If a driver, for any reason, makes management's special little list, you can bet the farm and everything else you own that the driver WILL be put under a microscope. They will then start to compile a list of infractions until they have enough information to fire the driver.

This is why I use my own dash cam (which I talked about in other threads). I control the device. I control the data.

Interesting. We have the same system and they don't have that ability.

sure they do. Your boss or supervisor or Safety personnel can live audit that camera at any time to test if it's working. They might not tell you this, but I promise you, they can. I've seen it done on the laptop right in front of the truck from my boss' SUV as well as his cell phone.

Lytx won't ever acknowledge this to anyone but their customers. Give their sales dept a call Monday and play like you're an owner/operator and you have drivers and you're interested in buying Lytx camera's for your truck and then ask if you can live audit the camera on your phone or laptop and see if those camera's are working at any given time.
