Normally if I'm anywhere near nyc I'm running over the outer bridge and verizano into long Island so 95 through would be a new experiance. I'll probably be hitting this at night if this shipper hurry up I should have just enough hours to get north of nyc tonight
Edit. Booted up my qualcomm I won't be getting north of nyc tonightLast edited: Mar 31, 2017

Roll 95 right thru the Bronx. Avoid rush hour - 8 miles will take you two hours.
Ignore the 12'8" clearance signs. They lie.
God awful stretch of highway there... From the Jersey Pike all the way up to the Mass / New Hampshire border.BUMBACLADWAR, AM14 and Boattlebot Thank this. -
Is there an option to run up 81? Otherwise just follow 95 and be sure to stay in the truck lanes. The trek across New York is much smoother than it used to be. I try and stay in the middle lane once across the bridge. Best to cross during off-peak hours if possible.

If you begin your journey to New England from far enough south, going up through Scranton via 81 and 84 is a viable option.
