That's the reason behind my user name. Been reading this forum intently since August trying to educate myself and find my path. I read stories like yours and can feel the swing of emotion as things develop. When all is said and done, it feels like watching "Rocky" and seeing underdog prevail.

There is no reward without risk.
There is no result without effort.
The last year of this thing kicked my butt. A few times I was ready to throw in the towel.
I had to reflect and refocus. Realizing the end goal and baring the worst to come as I stumbled to my goal line.
As the transition took place, I looked at my "well used" truck and noticed all the bright and shiny things I wanted to add now that it's mine. These things meant little while I was buying it. Only after it was mine alone, did I start thinking about needing to spruce it up.
    I don't even have a CB installed...I don't have a TV or a laptop.

I think it's time to make measurements to build a custom cabinet or two. I want to cook in my truck and have a water basin.
All these ideas flood to me as I look at potential of what I can do now.
First, set up my own repair fund.

Waiting where the big rocking chair is in Illinois to unload a tractor in the morning, then I race to KC to offload our new beer account. Got to love Michigan micro breweries!

Chrome is a safety item right? I can write those things off because my truck is more reflective and stuff...right?

Speaking of pics, I thought by now we would see your mug shot holding a certificate of failure, like they do on the company's FB page.

Also, have you decided if you are going to remain under the Lease rules where they repair your truck at no charge, or are you switching to the Owner Operator contract where you get paid more, but have to pay for all of your maintenance?

Either way, congratulations on a job well done. From reading this thread, I know there were times you thought about throwing in the towel. I'm happy for you that you proved the naysayers wrong and got the title.

I try to avoid cameras if I can.
Pretty much as soon as I was able I jumped over to the self maintenance side. It was far more money and I'm confident I can go a couple of weeks before catastrophe hits.
It's bizarre how I suddenly look at what I can add to my truck to make it bright and shiny.
They may get me on the FB page yet, but it will be a sneak attack.

Don't forget that bright and shiney crap don't add a single dime to the net you're tryin to bring to the house. I got a brother in law drives a real shiney lighty chromey truck and frankly we all tease the crap out of him cuz he's always cryin broke. I always ask him how them turbo lights do to his fuel savings. And the yag lug nut covers.

I'm not going to go crazy, just going to make it more presentable than if a rag man owned it. Right now it has that "well used" look.
I would like to get the doors sealed better so I don't need a tarp over my legs when I go to the truck wash. That should be a cheap fix. Maybe if I just washed it it would shine right up!?
