Reading through the thread i think gives a good idea of the company. The drivers who post here are honest and post the good along with the bad. We go to all places in the 48 and into canada. The trucks are all o/o spec with fridge inverter auto and green. We have a lot of freight for our 4 main customers and use brokers to facilitate moves back to serve the main customers. There is plenty of miles here to be had.
As far as the NE yes we have some regional drivers who handle the bulk of NE loads. (Im one of them) Ive been to all 5 boroughs and long island. Since July 2016 ive been 30 times to nyc and this is my second trip this week. According to a sign in dispatch all drivers are hired to drive all 48 amd all points within, but that doesnt seem to be evenly applied to all drivers. We have lots of freight going to nyc. I would expect a couple trips there a year as an otr driver. Im sure others will chime in but that seems to be the norm.
Hometime is the standard 1 for 6 out 12 day minimum.
Biggest gripe you will hear and see here is there is minimal communication. You are captain of the ship and they believe in that. They gibe you your addresses and times and as long as you make that happen they are happy. You will be calling brokers for assigned broker loads. Take any route you want within reason, fuel at any pilot flying j loves not in florida or virginia. No micromanaging. We have cameras front and driver facing. Safety's pretty reasonable. I set mine off fairly often bouncing across the NE and have some hard breakings after getting cut off in nyc. Have yet to hear anything on that.
Im sure others will be along soon to answer anythimg else.

You would qualify as a refresher. The pay is $100 per day. The amount of time with a trainer will fall solely on your ability. Basically it's 1-2 weeks. What I look for is your driving ability and teaching you the policies and procedures of the company.
You will be required to go to Brooklyn with your trainer for one trip. I'm born and raised there and very rarely do I go. I think last year I was there twice.
Our main lane is I-40. But living in Ohio is an excellent area to live. We have a boatload of customers and freight there. Hope this helps your decision making.trkrmichael, Drivencrazy, 460/580 and 5 others Thank this. -
Got to meet JB yesterday which was cool. Since bh jarratt was/is slow i got to creep along in nyc traffic all morning on my way to long island. Been runnin on recaps all week which is a new experience for me but thankfully i work similar hours each day so the 70 hasnt been restrictive as compared to the 11/14. Just something to watch. Get to head to mass tomorrow and then on saturday get to discover the battery danzler that people seem to have such fond words for!

Sitting at the J in St Augustine. Yesterday was a day from hell. Got my truck service, found both wheel seals on the front drive axle leaking. That made for the third time in the 13 months I've had this truck that they needed to be replaced. The real problem was as soon as I left our shop to drive the 3/4 of mile to KW, I ran out of fuel 100 yards from the dealer, truck was full, but the new filters weren't primed and that's as far as I made it. It took KW longer to bleed my whole fuel system to get the air out then it did to replace the wheel seals. So finally at 10pm last night I left Richmond. Trucks running fine, just keeping an eye on my 3rd set of wheel seals to see when they'll start leaking again.

That's a good thing.
I recall reading how Schneider drivers IIRC aren't allowed on parts of the Ohio Pike.
