Most of the time when we go through TX its either 20 or 40......don't get down through the southern end very much at all.
Yes, things are going great! The last few weeks we've been averaging around $3400 to the bank each week. This week, though.....I made a booble...and one trip didn't make it through or it would have been right at $3200 to the bank. But, it'll just make next week that much better...It sure does make it easier to help out the rest of my family when we get to work good. We just thank the Lord that he has seen fit to bless us like this.
And thanks to all the people that have come to realize that everything you hear about a company isn't always true. Seems like more and more people are beginning to see things for themselves instead of taking other peoples word for fact.
It's been a really fun year with Lo being on the truck and I'm just thankful that we get to spend our days together now......Lord knows it took long enough! But, the wait was worth it....we get to enjoy it now! Hope everyone has a good weekend! Go Saints!Baack Thanks this. -
Thanks for the very informative thread you created.
I have reviewed alot of it to avoid redundant questions but still have a few questions, OK?
As a lease operator what is your percentage earned of the load revenue?
Are you still pulling reefer?
Has the freight changed in the last few months?
I live in central Florida, what do you think about leasing to Prime and getting through here every 4-6 weeks? Then I'd take a week or so off. I would be running solo.
Thanks for the input! -
We just got back from the NASCAR race at Talladege. Saw quite a few Prime tractors. One that stood out the most was a blue one (I believe) that I could have sworn had a dragon mural in the drivers side. I was heading toward Talladege and he/she was heading the other direction.
One thing I will say...every Prime truck that I saw was clean as a whistle....I saw a tanker last night...talk about shiny.
Look'n good all around.

Steve&lo, I've tried to read up on info about prime and have tried to use the search engine so excuse me if I'm repeating a prior question. I live outside Kansas City. Do they have any regional midwest guys that stay in the midwest and can get home every other weekend without getting upside down on fixed cost? I drove under my own authority for 5 years and the last 3 years went south because of major breakdowns (engine rebuild, tranny rebuild, etc). I could just never save enough money in the beginning to handle all the repairs and breakdown issues that occured in the last few years. I ended up having to finaince most of the repairs and from there it just kept getting worse. My credit is not good anymore so buying a new truck is out of the question. I'm thinking of prime because they have newer trucks with good warranties. I used to do all the routine maintanance myself like changing out tires, oil, fuel filters, lube, etc so I can save a few bucks there and having a warranty to cover the big repairs is a lesson I learned from my last truck. I've been off the road for the last year and half doing tree work which is something I've done in the past as well, but it doesn't pay that good and while I'm still young (37) I'm getting tired and beat up from tree work. Earlier this year I was off work for 4 months because I broke my tibia (shin bone) doing tree work, and last week I got my pinky finger smashed up pretty good. I enjoy both tree work and driving trucks but leaning towards going back to driving. I was thinking they should have plenty of freight running thru the Springfield terminal to get me thru there every other weekend, then drive my p/u truck up to Kansas City to be with my son. I have custody of my son every other weekend and it's very important to me to be home during those times. Any thoughts on all this. Sorry to take so long in writing.

And I can tell you....if you don't mind working....and don't have to be home every weekend.....you can make some money here.Markvfl Thanks this. -
Have you considered looking at the "Freight-Hauling" compaines? I know that Con-Way and FedEx Freight both have LARGE terminals in the KC area....and you move up fast at the large locations...... And, once you get your time in......the money is GOOD!!! Not to mention the benefits both have. AND they don't work weekends!
Hope you find what you're looking for! -
Thanks Steve&lo for the comeback. I've looked into some of the local or linehaul jobs and even applied to the Fed-Ex Ground working for an O/O but I got into trouble with the law about 9 years ago and so they won't hire me. Anyway thanks for the reply and have a safe trip.

Oh....I'm sure there have been instances where something went wrong.
But, on the whole....it is probably one of the best run companies out there. Otherwise.....there wouldn't be so many of us out here making money. And we ARE out here...over 1500 trucks strong.....singles and teams....making money. GOOD money.
