Went into consignee, dropped bills and got door. Ran out to back in to the dock. Aaaand it's locked. Fortunately I was 5 minutes from the terminal so it only took someone two hours to get to me.

Pro tip: always zip tie some spares around your truck. I already knew this and did it on every truck I've had, except this one. I was assigned and took off under a load and didn't secure any of the 3 sets of keys in a safe hiding space.

Thought about breaking out the window and blaming neighborhood kids for a hot minute, but I had already called onroad. Sorry to the other drivers who had to wait in line behind me for 2 hours. Turns out I'm the only one at this D.C. With a hammer or a pry bar. Could have crawled my scrawny ### in the side box under the bunk or something if I could get it open lol

    pattyj and bzinger Thank this.

Gorilla tape black only... tape somewhere it can't be seen and only you know where it is... I couldn't sleep knowing a key is zip tied to the oil dipstick or otherwise easily found..

Never in my life have I locked a vehicle without either using the key or using a remote key fob. I don't even know how to lock a vehicle otherwise.

Wear a spear key like dog tags, that way it's always with you

Yup, spare keys. I keep one on my person, then since this kw is able to lock me out rather easily, one hidden somewhere where it isn't easy to find just in case I get out in the morning without my key.
