Don't know about the Hope Diamond but there are a number of high value loads that move daily which I won't get into because it's confidential. I started driving in 1987 after 6 years in the Army. Started working here almost a year ago so no it doesn't take 30 years to get hired here only a Clean MVR, CSA, Employment history and good credit as well as numerous background checks, fingerprinting by the FBI and weapons training/qualification. If you can get thru all that it takes about 2 weeks to be processed

Won't say better or worse but we like it. Best part for us, NO Hazmat, not today, not tomorrow, not ever. Money's right for us. With only 10 years till retirement we have found our IT job. We don't work harder, we work smarter. Took me those 30 years to learn as a team we don't have to run 6000 miles to make a great paycheck. This puts everything in perspective for us. Pays off our motorhome, pickup and all our debt while giving us a superb retirement fund. I don't care if whoever wants to believe it or not but we HAVE found our pot of gold and we are together doing what we love. That's the best part.

Not sure why it's so hard to believe that a team can make the kind of money mentioned. Teams at my company hit $80k per driver with ease, and many do a lot more than that. They love husband and wife teams. We don't have a generous firearms policy like the one mentioned, but that's awesome too.

It's a lot easier when they make .65 cpm, per driver, not split. They still stay out several weeks at a time, but I don't think they're working themselves to death. Easy to get those miles if you don't have to waste time at shippers and receivers.

We ran under 2000 miles for the week and still managed to gross 1529 each. There is a lot more to our pay than just mileage. We dont concentrate ao much on miles as all the other stuff. Normally we only work a 5 day week. This week was 4 days. Just curious what COMPANY are you referring to that pays driver teams .65 each?

Old Dominion. Team rate is higher than I originally stated. That figure was from a couple of years ago. It's .72 now. Ltl's usually treat their people pretty good.
