I drove for Big O for 11 years out of Cincinnati.
The union really screwed things up with their big push, but Big O was a good place to work for many years.
Now that UPS is in the door it sounds like it maybe even a better place to work.
Good luck to you guys.:smt033

Well as you put it, things are going to get screwed up again by the union.
I'll bet they will really screw up thing's like get our delay back.
Or really disappoint the p&d side and give us our Overtime pay back.
Indy must really be suffering now since they are teamsters, having to make decisions about what's being negotiated in our contract.I'm sure they feel that they made a mistake.
.
This isn't overnite anymore, UPS is handling the negotiations with the teamsters, not Leo or Gordon. These two antiques will be gone soon and UPS along with IBT will make this company as far as benifits and compensation, second only to big brother parcel. -
I've pulled for Overnite many times i Enjoy it for their Expided Long Hauls think when i get my dispatch its a 55mph nonstop transit, Those are the kind of loads i like and no waiting for loading or unloading its Simply Drop and hook..

Good choice, we've got better equipment at Motor Cargo.
These three company's, Motor Cargo, Overnite, and UPSF, have a long way to go before they become one and everything is back to normal.
I've been through the bad times and slow times with MC and it was all worth it. Stick with us, it might be rough in the beginning, but you will be glad you stuck it out. -
What's your "delay"?
What do you know about this? I heard stories of tractor-trailers being sent on parcel deliveries. Extreme stupidity in dispatch, maybe? Idiots not knowing the differences in the divisions? -
Don't know what this has to do with my post you quoted but, Parcel, being protected by a contract and us not , they can take what they want but we can't do the same to them. Thier jobs and business is protected by a contract. -
I am an overniter, and I think that ups has greatly increased everything motor cargo didnt have. As for overnite it enhanced our package. There is petty crap than can get better but overall I think we now have the best looking equipment, and benefit package that we could hope for at this point. Intergration between cargo and overnite are about done, and weve gone threw some crap getting through it, but its all good.

As a former Overniter and one who pushed for the union, I can honestly say that basically Overnite was a good company. The trouble was at the terminals. Each terminal was run completely different and each terminal manager thought that he was a little "god". Complaints to Richmond was like "pissing in the wind". UPS will mostly likely take care of this major problem.
