Mark is a pretty god #### amazing asset for rand mcnally. I really really really dislike rand mcnally's map update policies, how long they take, especially compared to garmin's quarterly updates, that are consistently on time.......But I doubt you'll ever get support like mark provides from garmin.

How do I register a new TND 730 that I bought on eBay? The dock doesn't let me.

 

it sounds like it was already registered, and wasn't so 'new'......Probably have to talk to mark to get the registered user cleared from rand's servers, which would allow you to register it.

 

Hey, can anyone help me? I have tried to call Rand McNally but all I get is a voicemail and nobody calls me back.

I have a Rand McNally 520LM that I have had for a few years, but unfortunately haven't been able to use it for a long time due to the fact I deleted all folders on the GPS by accident and now Dock won't recognize my GPS. I get the error "System Files Missing".

Does anyone know where to download the basic system files to put back on my GPS?

If I remember right, one time when the system got corrupted I ran across some thread somewhere that mentioned a reset combo to actually get into the recovery menu. If I recall in that menu Dock recognized my GPS.

This thing has been a paperweight for over half the time I have owned it.

If you have time to do that I would appreciate it. So this would basically trick dock into downloading the appropriate data, right?
