The only way to get the smoke smell out is to start with the first step.

You stop bringing the smell in first.

Then you basically start with wiping down the interior of the truck. The mattress needs removed because it retains the smoke.

The seats will need a deep cleaning as will the carpets.

    lol

I'm gonna say it anyway - because you know SOMEBODY is gonna. Quit smoking!

There. It's out of the way.

I *used* to smoke, and the driver who had my truck before me was a heavy smoker. (I quit years ago).

My first home-time, I sprayed every surface - even the glass with Febreeze. I made sure I got the undersides of things, behind things - and the cubbies under the bunk (had to do that from outside, since the bottom bunk didn't lift in my 379).

lurch thanks! i new it was only a matter of time before someone said it, but didnt think that it was going to be that quick lol
well as i said, im not quiting anytime soon, maybe when i get a new truck, which should be in the next 12 months ill concider at least cutting back, or not smoke in the truck.
but lets get back on track and come up with some idea on riding the smell without quiting....

Well, when you smoke in the truck, you cannot remove the smell.

I am allergic to cigarettes. I spend a large amount of time cleaning the truck in order to even sit in it.

Febreeze works by stabilizing the fabric so that the smell doesn't escape. It works pretty well, especially if you repeat the process as needed.

The hanging scented things also seem to work, as does an ionizer. I use all of the above in stubborn cases.

Pick up one of those pet odor and stain removers. It's not designed for cigarette smoke odor, but it actually works quite well.

Just a weird idea some used car dealers find helpful. Cut up some potatoes and apples and leave them in the truck a day. They will absorb much of the odor. But, car dealers do not then induce new smoke to add smell.
