Hi Bigwallmike, Yes I still work for them and I am going on 6 months with them, there are a couple things I need to revise d though so you are not mislead, for one I discovered that the load pay is commodity based, when I calculated that $1.00 a mile figure it was when I hauled the sulfuric acid which is the highest paying commodity as far as I know, recently FMI shut their load racks down in Miami and I was brought back to work at the Curtiss terminal and now I am hauling prill (pneumatic) or solution (insulated) tanker, the load rates are less with those commodities.

So I take it you're happy with them then. The person I spoke with on the phone said that I'd be home almost every night with the occasional exception, have you found this to be true?
I've got an interview with a heavy haul outfit on Monday but am not ready to rule out CTI

I was told that I'd be hauling cement, lime, or fly ash, any idea on rates?

I wouldn't say completely happy with it, but it works for me for now, I live in Hauchuca City which is in between Sierra Vista and Benson AZ, the Curtiss yard is on the outskirts of Benson, I wanted to find work that was somewhat close to me and CTI was one of the few carriers that had a yard that close, there is also a Superior Carriers and Groendyke but compared to CTIs operation they are smaller and rarely hire from what I understand, don't get me wrong I like the job and the people I work with, my issue is with their pay system, for example you give them a hour during loading before you can start charging load/delay time, then on the off load on the other end they want you to give them a hour and a half before charging load/delay time, they claim that the 2 and half hours given up is factored into the load rate but I am not so sure about that, I can say that after my three month probation period my pretrip fuel pay went to 8.50 from 8.25 and my loading/unloading delay pay went from 17.50hr to 18.00hr, as a example of load pay a Curtiss to Morenci solution run pays $120.00 dollars, the loaded miles is 137 but keep in mind the round trip is 274 miles, that is the way they pay.

Sorry but no I don't, I can only give you a idea of what I have hauled for them, acid/prill/solution, and I don't know a whole lot about the Kingman terminal operation.

Oh hey one other thing Bigwallmike, I can't stress enough if you take the job with CTI, be sure to keep your copy of your trip sheet (blue sheet), you will see what I am talking about and learn about the trip sheet at orientation, the people in payroll are not dishonest but they are human and do make mistakes, keep your blue copies so you can compare them to your pay settments each week, make sure they didn't miss anything like a per diem or a drop and hook or a pretrip/fuel or things like that, if there are errors they will correct them and get you paid, overall they are pretty good but they have made some minor mistakes on my pay, but they have always made it right for me.
