You all want to see some funny s*it.
Go to a marina and watch people try to launch their boats.
Married couples are the best, especially if that's their first go at it.

You ain't even lyin'. That's some funny business to watch. What's really good is when an afternoon squall comes up unexpectedly and then you watch them all trying to get empties backed in to put the boat on and get out of the water. Ah, the benefits of a sport fisher... stay dry, watch the funnies. :biggrin_255:

Living in Florida for 5 years, I saw plenty of that! Another funny one was watching the tourists at the beach. They'd bring just about everything but the kitchen sink to the beach with them. It took them forever to set up. In late fall, winter, and early spring, you could always spot the tourists at the beach too, because they were the only ones in the water. Once the water temp drops below 75 degrees, the residents don't go in the water!

Heh, when I was a kid, my neighbors across the street were Canadian transplants. Every winter they'd have relatives and friends come down from the "Great White North" and sit out in the front yard getting tans. I grew up in Huntington Beach, CA and it doesn't get that cold but, sunning one's self in 50 degree temps was kind of loony to us. :biggrin_25526:

Your post reminds me of that great quote...

"One man's winter is another man's summer."

    Or something like that.

BTW, we think y'all are pretty funny wearing parkas in those kind of temps. :biggrin_25525:

We referred to them as Snow-birds in Florida! The Canadian ones were usually a big hazard on the road. I almost got t-boned by one that didn't think he needed to stop when coming out of a parking lot.

The hotels knew how to make money off of them though. Before we moved to Florida, we road-tripped down there in October (to remove our stuff from hubby's dad's house after he passed away, and to supervise a moving company that was there to get hubby's brother's stuff. We booked a hotel on Anna Maria Island for a week. We were across the street from the Gulf of Mexico. We paid $500 for the whole week, and the 'room' we booked was more like a 2 bed, 2 bath apartment with a kitchen. Booked the same set up in January when we went down there to find an apartment and do some other things, and we ended up paying $1300 for a week.

Yep, they sure did look like lobsters! They don't seem to realize how much closer to the sun they are that far south!
