    Got out of trucking?

I thought I'd enjoy working in trucking management, alas, I did not and got out over a year ago.

I would suggest when planning revenue, use 10,000 miles per month rather than 12,000. Considering winter weather and other delay. Annually, 120,000 miles seems more accurate to me.

I usually run between 10k and 12k a month. Just depends if I took home time, reset, or how many times I had to put a trailer in the shop. It will be around 8k for December because I take two weeks off for Christmas.

Whomever posted that about what does the company take back, hit on what I harp about all the time.

The L/P I did with guy I pull for now was $0.98 mile plus the FSC.

Insurance, IFTA, were/are dirt cheap. Plates were a shot in the dark too cause it's only like 8 states. No trailer rental. My truck payment was $550 week.

    3100 paid miles a week = $1850 to $2000 week before taxes.

Oh and DEF works out to $0.01 mile.

Not sure if that's a joke.

However, seems like I was pretty close. Except the way the truck payment is structured. I figure most guys under JCT lease are making around .60 per before taxes. 10k to 12k miles a month would leave a guy with $1500 a week give or take a few bucks.

@.40cpm a company driver gets paid $1240.00, in addition the company pays 7.5% of the wages in SS tax (driver pays 7.5% also) probably gets some vacation and paid holidays also depending on the company, and possibly a 401k with a match and health insurance, so in summary it's all in what you want or consider good or bad.
