Just curious. I keep my backpack close to me like a child. All my favorite posessions are in it and was just curious about that. Could someone help me out with an answer to this?
Can DOT legally search my backpack, even if it's on me when he searches my cab?

I believe yes. Especially if you and the back pack were in the truck. And especially if there is any sort of probable cause...ie..You acting funny etc. Pretty sure a truck and anything in it is openly searchable by law without reason anyhow though.
