Iv'e got a K100. When you put the key into the passenger door lock, it turns right around and nothing happens, in other words it's broken. I've bought the key and barrel kit off KW, 2 door barrels and the ignition switch barrel with 2 keys. I've changed them in the past, problem is I've forgotten how to change the door lock barrels.
I remember you cut off the stainless cover over the lock, problem is I've forgotten where you go from there. You don't have to touch the interior trim.
Couldn't find anything on google, and on TTS one guy removed part of the interior trim and I know you don't have to do that.
Anyone know where I can find step by step instructions, preferably illustrated? Or can anyone explain it step by step?

I always pulled the door panel, I don't know for sure on a k100, but all the ones I changed have a retaining clip on the back side. Pop it off and pull the rod loose and it should come out of the front.

Diesel Dave, mslashbar and Ozdriver Thank this.

I'll be looking at it tomorrow, but I know you can do it all from the outside because I've done it before. After you chisel the stainless cover off you somehow put a small blade down the side of the barrel and pull it out, but it escapes me how I did it exactly.

There is a certain position to turn it and it will pull right out. But I think you have to disconnect the lock linkage to do it.

I had the same problem with Pete, tried everything, took it to a locksmith, he had the tools to swap it out quickly, charged me $10...

Well... my lock is missing on the drivers side, and since it needs to be installed I bought a new set (2) in a pack. By turning the barrel all the way to the left it pulls out slick as a hounds tooth. Won't be able to with it installed in IMG_7810.JPG the door, not that I can see. Mine is a 1995 W900L.
