Gonna be making my first run into the cold storage in Riverside tomorrow. Any advice specifically for the parking situation there? Gonna be headed there from Sky City but my appointment isn't until early Thursday morning.

It's easy to get to and plenty of backing room once on the property. Only a portable John on site so handle that stuff before you arrive incase it's a long wait there. Me and another Abilene there were unloaded quickly thpugh.

Don't know if you can park on the property but they have a big dirt trailer lot and I didn't see anyone policing it. I would just head over to the CR England yard a couple miles away where we have a drop area on their back dirt lot. Google maps may still have the CRE place listed as US express as they used to own it.

Suppoedly we are not allowed to use the facilities at cre, other driver do anyway, but i haven't. If stuck at cre for a while, there is a tiny 7-11 with truck parking near the cre yard that fills up quick, but if you leave your trailer at cre there is usually enough room to squeeze a bobtail in if you need food and bathroom facilities.

I've been stuck in a rut the past few loads as far as long waits to load and unload. Just finished one today that was 2.5hrs to load and over 6hrs to unload. Those delays, plus a few forays into the NE have kicked my miles square in the nads.

I've been dragging a reefer around since the 11th so fingers crossed I can get a van load with some legs on it next.

Thanks for the info. Any idea if they unload early, or in my case ridiculously early? Appointment isnt until 3am but I'm probably going to get into the area by 4pm Weds.

I'm just getting ready to head there myself. I've been told they will take you an hour or so early IF they can. But probably not as early as you and I were hoping ... lol

I parked at the Pilot in Hesperia at 11am local Monday for my 3am Wednesday appt. Got a reset and then some.

After I unload it's up to Semco Cooling in Salinas for a live produce load that will likely take all day. Taking it to Wegmans in Rochester NY.

After that I'm looking for a load back to Richmond so I can get Ole Bessy in the shop. She's not feeling too well ... lol

Wouldn't mind spending my first night in my new aparrment with my new honey either. ;)

Detention time is after 2 hours, not 4.

You can take your 10 at C&C in Riverside, but like others have said. Use OD to go to the CRE yard, drop your trailer and go to the 7-11. If at all possible, I like having facilities.

On the north side of I-10 there's also a WalMart if you need supplies and a restaurant called Family Buffet that used to be decent (I haven't been to it in a couple years) that you can BT to.

I havnt hauled alot of hill phoenix lately and when i have its been a small load. Has anyone else noticed that the nail heads are breaking alot more than they used to??? Its been rather annoying for me and the contractors on both hp loads this week.

Depends on the nails used. They use both solid and ring shank. The ring shank heads tend to break off more. What kills me is how many they use. Aftet building homes for 30+ years, trust me when I say they only need 2 per block to hold those coolers. These guys go nuts with the nail guns.
