I didn't think you could "cage"a brake anymore. I thought I saw new "paint cans" that didn't have the hole.

I've never actually seen a major crash happen,( been in one myself) but sure came up on many, and it's never pretty. If you are the 1st on the scene, you have an obligation to call for help, not pry mangled bodies out of crashes. That's what emergency personnel are for. If you see a tarp, ( usually a fatality) say a little prayer, grab another gear, and boogie down the road, you have work to do. I tried not to look. Quite frankly, when I saw a crash, it made me a better driver.

Every brake piece on my truck is brand new.... I can still use T-bolts. Maybe you seen a brand new truck?? Every maxi I have seen on the shelf has a T-bolt. They might as well do away with them, getting to be fewer and fewer that know what to do with them. Or any other part of the truck. :)

Maybe it was the boss in the casting that held the t bolt? Something looked different. With as picky as DOT is, I can't imagine they'd let you do that. You can't even "jiggle" a light cord anymore.

Well let's hope if she does a seal, she doesn't have to start from scratch like I did....:) Didn't have one so I roughed it out on my Vintage Logan lathe from a piece of 1"x6"x6" aluminum stock. Saved me about 26 miles driving plus cost of the part.

That's how it's done. Let's not forget another wonderful invention, the "Speedi Sleeve".

Unfortunately, welcome to the 21st century version of the trucking industry, where misfits, malcontents, and other assorted yahoos that feel being a proud representative of one's company officially translates to the word "owned" now largely rule the day.

Truckers, turning the mildly confusing into a cluster F since the 1930s.

For those of you who disagree, I suggest reading our thread on how to complete a right turn.
