Finally got my own truck

I had a Truck do the same pulled and had a vibration new set of steers ran good. As the rubber softens up and wears the vibration comes back and pulls right again. MD alignment fixed me up after 6- 3axle alignments at the Ta Petro and cpl other shops all used the Hunter Alignment system all were junk. MD uses a laser alignment no more problems so heads up if issue continues ok

 

You are NOT making more then a company drive in any way. You could make 65k to 70K a year be home every day or weekend with full benefits vacation and 401 no one would do what you are doing for that little money. You are dreaming if you think you could hire some to do your job cause you can make way more else where plus benefits.

 

Bear in mind @BoyWander is early in his first year. Any start up business takes time to get a handle on opportunities and difficulties. If you are a company driver your upside is nowhere near the upside of an experienced independent or owner operator leased to a percentage pay carrier. It's not even close.

 

That makes NO sense... company driver making 70k a year is ONLY $5384 a month GROSS. Less medical insurance payment he just grossed 6950 plus in 3 weeks after his expenses..

Many have tried to help you many with years of doing this and some make 2k a week more then you plus home during the week and on week end. We all suggested to try reefer, Flat bed , tanker to bring in higher pay dry van is the worst and lowest paid. But still you do bad lanes and sit to long waiting for loads. flowers out of Michigan are paying 5 to 6k a load but six or seven drop reefer. you could be home weekend check out ever fresh they are out of grand rapids mi. You are honest and like that you post the truth but it kills me to watch you work this hard and stay away from home way to long so little money. Everyone is getting rich from your hard work. You would better off working for a company with there own freight pulling there trailer for free for less per mile cause expenses would be less no cargo insurance some to think about.

 

The key word is grossed. You don't get to keep very much of that number. This type of thinking is the reason so many fail. They live off the gross numbers, never save for a rainy day then the tax man comes knocking.

 

So are you all just saying there is more money to be made out there on better freight, how do we identity the better and better lanes?

 

Trial and error along with good record keeping. No one is going to hand out their secrets, especially on the net.

 

Do freight brokers make more than Truckers are we in the wrong business?

 

Apples and avacados. They get more volume than a single truck can do. Don't worry about what they make, just get what you need or take a nap.
