You should have already told your dispatcher your quitting then maybe they could have found another driver but leaving your company in a bind is not what I call being professional.Do what you want but id hate to have your DAC if you do just up and quit while under a load.

A mans word is his bond? Under a load, deliver it and that's that?

Maybe where you are. I'm forced dispatch. I don't choose or agree to my loads. I get them and I run them or I don't run them and I sit. Until I go to get the load. They don't care if it's late, they'll just fire me. They sure aren't going to pull it. I tell them I'm available to drive and they say here you go, drive this. I say duck I don't want to go to jersey and Connecticut and New York and Boston. They say too bad, better get moving or you'll be late for pickup.

So, you know what? If I decide to quit, I'll tell them to pull whatever off me and get be back to terminal. family emergency. I need to quit asap, family is in Uzbekistan and they are going to be Oompa Loompas if I don't show up. Forced quitting to match the forced dispatch

Honestly the entire reason i found a new job is because truck reeks of piss and they keep giving me the run around. I honestly think the last guy got mad at the company and just took a leak in the cabinets.

I gave it a week to see if i could clean it out but the smell is still there. Today i asked them for a new truck and they told me to go get it washed. Yes the outside... Then they said to go put in a work order at a terminal to get it cleaned out. It needs a new windshield anyway so good timing.

The smell makes me sick to my stomach and is seeping in to my clothes. Its horrible trying to live in this. I want out of this truck and finding a new job is my only way out

Be the better man and deliver the goods. Then tell them you're moving on.

I quit Western Express under a load. I sent a Qualcomm message basically saying I resign from my position immediately, I have photographed your equipment, have not and will not damage the equipment, and I am en route to your headquarters. I picked a load up in Indiana the night before, was in Illinois headed for St Louis. I didn't get a message back until I was headed back the other way for over 2 hrs.... They weren't happy of course... All that came out of it was $200 diesel charge which I was happy to pay to get away from that ####hole company. I think it's more respectable to finish out what you started, and that situation could have went worse for me, whatever you do, stick to your guns. They will threaten and lie and say all sorts of things to scare you. There are a ton of trucking companies out there, you should at least be happy and feel respected at the one you're at. Just my two cents

Lol ive never peed in the truck. I have no problem postponing the start date if need be. As is i could deliver the load and start the next job but the truck is waiting to be repaired. I dont know how long that will take. The main reasons i want to leave right away is because i dont want to spend over $100 to get home and im sick of smelling piss. I can get a ride tomorrow but after that my only option is an expensive bus ticket followed by cab fare.

No such thing as forced dispatch. Every time you turn the key you are accepting being dispatched. The options may not be good one, i.e. run the load or get fired. The choice is still yours though.
