14 hours to do what we want, 8 hour break, choice to continue paper logs or elogs. No speed governor.

I don't mind the current 11/14 with a 34 hour reset rule, but I would do away with godforsaken 30 minute break. What a waste of time.

Word on the street is everyone, including O/Os and mom/pops, have to convert to e-logs by the end of this year.

Can anyone confirm this? This is depressing news if true.

Unless there is a divine intervention, yes, most will be praying to the electronic god.

Yes, unless you're involved in driveaway/towaway, log 8 days or less in a 30 day period or have a model 1999 or older truck.

I don't think that is it... I have run both paper and eld.. while yes, I prefer paper.. I didn't take it as a survey of paper logs or electronic...

Personally, whenI think of old school for this survey.. I think of a company being able to push a driver beyond his physical limits...

I feel the driver should have protection from a dispatcher or company... but, I also feel he should have more say in how is best to run for him....

Actually, even when a truck is equipped with electronic log the driver is supposed to keep a paper log book or loose leaf logs in the truck for when or if the electronic logging device is not working...

So, most new driver orientation classes go over how to fill out logs..

It is no different than the many high school graduates who can't spell or do math...
