Why wouldn't they be confused? I think it is possible to do reassignment to automatics, but a manual that wants to be an automatic, well the technology for such a reassignment just isn't there!

 

Most are auto. But I've seen quite a few new cascadias and t680's with 10 speeds in them, so they're still getting new equipment with manuals.

I can promise you that you'll get one or the other

 

U can never request it's whatever comes up when I was with schneider last year I had the white truck it was a manual when I came back it was the tan automatic it's just the luck of the draw .. u can request but u not guaranteed someone who came thru the 18 day class got the manual

 

I heard Target isn't doing too good after implementing that progressive policy.

 

They are currently 100% team-based Automatics. Dedicated accounts are ALMOST there, and I'm a solo driver (Regional) and in an auto (although, I do prefer a manual).
West Memphis currently does not have any manuals to hand out, but did just receive about 20 new trucks with automatic transmissions about three weeks ago.

I'm not sure about Atlanta, but this company is in hammer-lane mode about this decision.

 

As of September of this year, 50% 0f Schneider's fleet is auto with the full implementation to be completed by 2019 Shifting Gears to Automated Transmissions: A New Generation of Trucks

 

I'll believe it when I see it. My guess is September 2019. We were supposed to be over 50% by January 2017, with full implementation by end of year. We've even started taking delivery if International LT to try and get back on schedule.
