In you all's opinion, which loadboard would you say have the rates posted the most?

I had ITS last year and DAT this year, I'd say about the same. But I gotta ask, what's it matter?

He does not wanna call around, just wants to see a good posted rate, book it and get going. Less phone calls, more driving

Something to that effect. More info isn't a bad thing.

That's a great way to leave a lot of money on the table. It's a really lazy way to approach working from load boards. I think it's funny how little time I actually spend thru the course of a day looking for and booking loads from brokers and most times there's never a posted rate. Price tags are for shoppers in a Wal Mart Super Center.

I never call on a load posted with a rate.

If it's a good rate, and it's more than 1 minute old, it's gone already. If it's not a good rate, that means they won't come up on price.

The only time I call on a posted rate is when I've seen it at one rate, then they post it again with a higher rate, if they do it a 3rd time and I'm interested in the destination, I'll call and ask for more.

In fact, I don't but rarely call on loads anyway. I hate begging. If the aren't calling my phone then I'm in the wrong area.

How do they know if you are in that specific area they are looking for you to be in? Just curious, how do they know where in the country you are at any given moment, or even that you are empty?

You can post your truck available on the load board website. The brokers see this and call you.

    Ramo Thanks this.

I like the rates displayed as the thermometer of how hot it is around the lanes. They can indicate whether or not a given load is in a desperado mode or requires an extra effort, or there is a catch such as a late night delivery or droping trailer at a Home Depot store. I don't particularly call on them but it lets me know for a given day that if Global Tranz is listing Chicago, IL to Columbus, OH for $ 650 three or six times that means that perhaps that day it will be hard to get anything above 800, and more realistically that lane will be covered for 750. I don't mind them at all. They don't have to be rigid either, just a like buying a used car, most of them also have a price tag, so at least you know what a seller thinks what he wants. DAT power has a rate column that can be sorted.
