    My feeling exactly.

Sights like that were a big factor in my departure from the construction trades.

I'll be sending in my application in a week or so. I'm in CDL school until May 20th. I spoke to Trish on the phone and she sent me the job opportunity email. I've been reading through this thread for a few weeks now. Only two moving violations on my mvr, both from 2012. Clean background. I hope I get hired on.

My cdl school applied me to Swift, UsXpress, Werner, Stevens, and Ho Wolding. They all pay slave wages except maybe Swift. My second option is Prime then Swift. I'll try for Mill is but they take people with at least 1 year experience. Maybe West Side Transport.

Haha! I ran my construction company for 34 years from age 16. Countless Porta-Johns on sites. Never saw one like that until I got into trucking. LOL :biggrin_2556:

He's home. There's a third and final installment to the saga. I'll let him tell you, he's such a prolific storyteller that if I wrote anything, I might miss something.

Then tell him to get typing. Oh, just remembered he has a new lady. Probably no time to type. I'll be anxiously awaiting the final installment of this saga.

Back in the old days when hauling produce after you picked up were told to whatever city and enroute they would tell who the consigned was, They hadn't sold the stuff yet so you just headed that way. Consignee used tatic of having to get a inspector as a negotiation tool to get the price of the produce lowered.

Hey folks. Sorry for the delay. (I can see some are anxiously waiting the conclusion), Sooo .... as one of my favorites Paul Harvey would say ..... Now, For the rest of the story.

We left off with me now sitting at the Carrier place working on getting the Reefer Download done. You'd "think" since this was wanted from Monday, are folks in the know might have called them ahead of time with all the info needed to complete it. Nope. Leave it on the ONE guy who hasn't a clue to figure it all out and get it done. I got there at roughly 5:30pm. By 9:30pm I was finally ready to hit the bunk ... I thought. Nope. The guy comes out and says I need a PO# to charge the reefer account before he can let me leave. Back to the QC and I even sent a text the big boss AJ.

The free form I sent basically said, I need a PO# for this. Someone needs to get hold of Joe. Wake him up, interrupt his dinner, whatever it takes but I am NOT missing this inspector in the morning and getting stuck another day here. At roughly 11:30 I get the PO# and give it to this place. Bunk here I come!!

I get up early Wednesday morning and 2 other trucks (not ours) are sitting there and leave seconds before I do. When I get to Wegmans at 7:30 those 2 trucks are at the gate in front of me. Imagine that. I walk into the place and tell them I'm back for the inspection and the reefer download was sent to both our shop and you folks. The guy looks at me and says, "I have no idea what you're talking about. We don't know anything about any USDA inspection". SERIOUSLY??? :biggrin_25516:

He sends me to another guy, and another guy (you know the Union thing) and after the FIFTH guy this time, I get told they have no idea what's happening but to go park somewhere on site. They have my number and will call me when they have any info. (Of course all this is flying back and forth with dispatch via QC, text, and phone the whole time) ... so I park. Folks, I'm normally pretty easy going but I'm beyond LIVID at this point.

They call me at about 7:50 and tell me to put it in dock 80. They have no answers yet but at least they'll get me on the dock. OK, 8am I'm docked. Long story short, (pushed for time as I have to get back to the yard now), I was released from the dock at 4:30pm WITH all the rejected produce. They wanted me to sign a hand written section on the BOL saying "Driver accepts full responsibility for the load" ... I refused and they signed off on it.

Got a new order to take it and drop it on the yard in Richmond. So I bolted, drove straight there and dropped it at 2am Thursday morning. Wrote up my truck, got to my new home (for the first time) at 3:30am.

Welp, gotta go back to the yard for more fun now. :)
