Attend the safety meeting that is going around. We now have 10 trucks at the dc with cameras going. I've heard that they where volunteers but these guys are the brown noisers in the office all the time. We where also told there will be random audits of cell phone usage. Anyone caught violating the policy will be terminated. I just want to say this I will follow the policy but I'm starting to think I made a mistake coming to Walmart. It seems they wanna find a reason to terminate you and anyone who thinks your not just a number here. Call in next time and just tell them your name. Guys who are freight haulers like I use to be you need to think good and hard about coming to Walmart. It's not what I thought it would be. This company preaches safety but don't think they don't try and push you to run harder than you should especially with the pressure safety dept empathizes. In other words they don't do what they preach. Just my 2 cents I know there will be die hard Walmart drivers who are gonna blast me but I tell it like it is

Random cell phone audits? Then we need to stand up and tell them no. If there's an incident or accident, OK but NO random audits.

    Coover Thanks this.

Heard today, that testers with cameras are also getting monitored their speed on roads. GPS the system uses reports when going over the posted speed limit by a certain mph

In addition to that, but there was also the story I read here a while back where a driver was in an area with no signal. He went to send a text, WHILE HE WAS SITTING STILL.

The message didn't go through until he was a few miles down the road driving. Apparently somehow this was enough to get him fired.

Because of this type of dirty pool, I would suggest two words.... "Burner phone".

Just make sure your text go before you start driving and on the speed it gives you 10 mph grace

Wow. I work for UPS and thought I we had it rough. At one time last year I applied for WM but decided to stay where I'm at. Sounds like I made the right decision. Good luck to you guys.

Well said, I made the mistake of leaving a good freight hauling job for all this also. I believed the hype posted around here, but discovered this place treats drivers like children. So many rules for 47 cpm. Seems like it gets worse every few months. I can't wait to see what's next after the cameras.

I don't cause much trouble and follow all the rules so I'll stick through it for now. But like this man said, if you're making good money where you're at, stay there. Slip seating, waiting at your DC for no pay half the day and cameras monitoring you with audio recording just isn't how the best of the best need to be treated.
