Haha So whats so bad about getting into there?

 

I don't remember what the Qualcomm directions are, but what I do remember is that I had to go in off PA 981, go through the very narrow one-lane one way path around the building to check in, then leave the building and circle around on up through town to approach that SAME entrance going the opposite direction and then back in off the street. If you look at the overhead view on Google Maps and see where the two trailers are docked in the shadowed area just north of the purple building, that's where the docks I had to use are. Those aren't the only ones there but they were the only ones not used by local scrap trucks.

Perhaps, I hope, they have changed the way they do things it that you'll have an easier time of it.

 

Ya I seen that google satellite view and wondered if thats what had to be done. Well at least the trip out there is noce easy run from Streator. Prob wont chance it going in today, I'll just wait till morning. Thanks for the heads up, tomorrow morn should be fun lol

 

I'd give them a call and ask how to get there, in case you can avoid all the malarkey I had to go through. They might tell you to approach it a different way.

 

Well that was fun.....lol. So I'm following driver directions that say take 981N. Ok cool no problem, until I get to 981N and it says truck detour bridge work on 981N local traffic only. Ok no problem so I follow the detour around and come to that bridge...I need to cross the bridge and I can see Castle Co but cant cross bridge because its being worked on...well wtf lol. So I hit the flashers and go talk to the construction guy's and ask them how the hell do I get right there on other side of bridge to customer if 981N is closed to trucks......they tell me I have to take that detour BACK out how I came and then ignore the 981N detour
Sign cuz its not in effect until just past the customer.... so I do that and lpw and behold right before 981N coming opposite direction i orignially came, there is a fn sign saying Castle Co Packers take 981N but not when coming in on 30E...ughhhhh. Then flipped uturn at gate to get backed in cuz cany cross the bridge and go turn around.....think this was my "welcome back" trip from Opie lol

 

There's a challenge in almost any new place, but this one in particular is unnecessarily difficult were you to ask me.

 

Oh ya it wasnt that bad really. Thankfully another Millis driver whos been here 13yrs was already backed into dock and tols me you could flip uturn. Because I honestly dont know if i would have tried it on my own, because looking at it it sure didnt seem like enough room, but its amazing what sliding tandems all way up will do for turning radius lol. If they'd had the sign on 30e like they did on 30w saying Castle Co go ahead and take 981N it woulda been great lol. Luckily the detpur was only 5-10mins or so. Now sitting in Clarion waiting get loaded headed for Eau Claire. They've made this place kinda crappy now. Was lot better when you could get loaded down at 1st building but now all Menards loads get loaded down the street where you have to back in off street and around poles lol

 

You must be at Clarion Laminates. I've had to dock at both sides of it this year, since they never seem to figure out where they're going to load us.

 

Ya I've been here probably 5 times and always loaded down at that 1st building. Now there is a sign on door saying if going to Shaw do something (i didnt read it cuz didnt care lol) and then if going to Menards go back on road park in lot across the street, and then come check it. These docks down here suck I'd much rather be at original building lol

 

I'm so used to checking in at the 1st building that I've probably gone to it twice this year only to curse that they moved the Menards check in as I got to the door. Both sets of docks have their own set of difficulties but at least at the first building you don't have to block up traffic.
