Just curious, you put both units in the same truck or 2 different trucks?

As an aside, the fridge in your motorhome gets an occasional luxury ride whereas the truck mounted units that ride every day ... Not so much luxury in that ride. That alone could/should potentially make the RV unit last much longer so not really an apples to apples comparison can be made there..

Hi there HaulinCars, Exactly, that luxury ride in the motorhome is just the reason i spent 400$ on a fridge, not the 1200$ on a truckfridge. Also,i hardly ever used the 12v-so i figured a regular 110 domestic will do.
    I have 2 trucks,wstar n a pete.Installed behind drivers seat.
So far ive gone 4 yrs w/out a problem-i just dont know of anyone thats used a domestic fridge/freezer for any length of time in a semi. Can anyone chime in with a report-on a frigidare in a volvo-or?

    Lepton1 and HaulinCars Thank this.

Walmart 2 door dorm fridge. Simply most bang for the buck and last long time.

Go to a RV dealer and buy a norcold, it's the one that most man's use and they last forever if you make sure they have ventilation. A good mod is to add a computer fan tapped into the compressor motor cucuit. Most failures come from inadequate airflow over the condenser

Petro is my choice. There happens to be one not far from Little Rock on 40 in Galloway, that one has been adopted by myself as my home stop. I prefer the TA in Earle and others but you cannot have it all. I should get down there more often. Ive already started planning a trip there this month, just waiting on the money to come together to make it happen.

Do not buy any old computer fan. Get a Delta. Those are server class fans. Then buy a standard grille for it. Make sure you do it. Because those Deltas will cut you all the way to the bone and force you to go get stitches. The downside to deltas is they howl when the humidity is high. You can try Ultra Kaze instead.

I build computers and I aint had a delta fan equipped machine burn up yet in these Arkansas summers, even though I cool with one or two radiators certain componets.

It usually comes without, but it has the hole the fridge will fit into. The trouble is the size of the hole doesn't fit standard refrigerators. You have to buy the expensive truck specific ones. I got lucky and had the fridge already installed on the used truck I bought.
