In the door heading to OH for a 1.94 all miles and delivers first thing Friday. I see some stuff I like over there and I'll be hitting the phone lines tomorrow. Had a few snags today with the fuel card and some documents but I think I have my routine down now.

Dude! Dont be pulling so cheap. You could lease to a carrier and get that. I'm pulling for ya, i really am, i have been since the beginning, but you need to work on those negotiating tactics.

One thing about this trailer is it has a hasp lock on it for one of those Abloy padlocks and it sticks out a bit. Where I could normally open my doors I had to pull back up to have room for the bracket to clear the other trailer.

?? The Ohio market rates are around 2.20 average, so he didn't do too bad unless it's a crazy short move. This is dry van. Sometimes I think you forget that fact. He could lease to a carrier and get that possibly, but those are contract rates too. We're talking spot market stuff.

Edit: I see now he's pulling reefer to which I know nothing about rate wise.

Actually he got away from the dry van. He is pulling a reefer. And the load goes to Ohio, not originates there. It originates in the reefer golden valley of arkansas.

Little Rock to Columbus averages around 1.72 for dry, so I dunno. Still doesn't seem like he got taken for a ride on that, but again no experience in reefer stuff.

I have to say I'm with Spyder on this one. I wouldn't touch any load going to a food warehouse for 1.94 , don't care if it's on a reefer, dry van, or a snow sled. Just the hassle alone is worth more than that to me. Everyone is different though, no doubt.

It's been years since i dealt with a reefer so I'm not up in current rates, but i know what I'm getting on the flat side. And it's double that. Freight rates are higher right now than many guys have ever seen. Pre housing collapse of 07. Or was it 08? Its practically a name your price market.
