The other thing to do is get yourself set up with the Michelin advantage tire program. You'll get a good price and the same price wherever you go to get tires. The program also offers set labor rates that are less than most shops. Program costs you nothing and saves you a lot!

I like the fuel card but I didn't know I couldn't use cash services until 90 days. Had to run by an ATM to pay lumpers today. Don't expect to be cutting checks or pulling cash off the NASTC card until you have 90 days in.

I'm setup with that also, and I've never used it.

Checked on the pricing they had on some steer tires here the other week. I bought tires cheaper walking in the door of the tire shop I always use.

Yea the tire discount is garbage. I was told 15 bucks off when I bought steers a few weeks ago. That was after getting transferred around 5 or 6 times. Nobody seemed to know that the heck was going on.

You have go through there site to find the prices. It's not the easiest site to navigate, but you'll be able to search tire shops in an area and even order the tires before hand. Yes I have been able to get lower prices on the same tire by starting with that price when I talk to the shop and then getting there competitive shop down the street to beat it and start a bidding war between the two. Now if your trying to replace a blown tire or a single bad tire, the advantage program is worth it so you don't pay truck stop prices on the tire, road call or labor charges.

Who told you? The tire shop? They're going too do everything they can to keep you from using the advantage program. You have to go look up the price book on the website to get the real price. A lot of times the best price has been the advantage program.

Why would I depend on the shop? They never have any idea what they're talking about when it comes to discounts. I called in to NASTC myself. Talked to several people who had no clue. Last lady I talked to said she "thought" it was 15 bucks, but wasn't sure, could transfer me somewhere else, I said forget it.

NASTC has nothing to do with the Michelin advantage tire program.

Sorry to jump in here like that, but since you guys are talking about it, can someone realistically state, unless it is under some confidentiality agreement, how much of a discount that NASTC card can offer... up to 30c, 45 c, maybe even 50 c below cash price? I am using Comdata and its 15 c below at Petros and Tas and 10 c at Pilot/Flying J. which still saves some money in 1 year. Is Nastc any better? I just don't feel like having too many fuel cards, just one, so would it be worth switching?

    SheepDog Thanks this.
