It is the seatbelt tickets, they show up in the background check, and many companies do that.

Therefore, with lucrative contracts at risk that trucking company doesn't want a new hire to automatically boost their score. They inherit any scores a new employee brings. Because they care about their CSA score they were able to get better paying freight and pass that on to their drivers with higher pay and benefits.
At my company a long-standing really productive driver had to be let go last fall. He can't get rehired until this coming Fall, after one of his speeding tickets drops off. He had been warned.
My attitude is I don't want drivers in the company I am leased to that care so little about their CSA score that they create a loss of revenue for me. I have a clean CSA and MVR. I take pride in it. If a customer requires 5 mph speed limits in their yard I stay below that speed. I wear the safety vest, hard hat, steel toed boots, safety glasses, fire resistant clothes, and H2S monitor on job sites because that's a customer requirement. That's a MINIMUM level of service.
You want the best jobs? Take your level of professionalism up a notch. Treat your customers with RESPECT. THANK them for their business. Ask if there's anything WE can do to increase our level of service. Be a salesman from the moment you arrive BEFORE on time at the shipper until the moment you drive away from the receiver. THAT'S the kind of driver I want to see on our team. We get well rewarded for our service and professionalism. The OP wouldn't get hired here, not until his CSA score drops significantly.johnwayne187, tscottme, okiedokie and 2 others Thank this. -
You all keep talking about the seatbelt.
What about the cell phone????Lepton1 Thanks this. -
For ANY driver reading this thread, take this #### seriously. There's absolutely no reason to not have a Bluetooth headset. I realize the OP said he wasn't on his hand held phone and beat that rap. The bottom line is get a Bluetooth headset and USE IT. With my setup I don't have to push a button for an incoming call, all I have to do is say, "Answer!". -

The problem with commercial tickets and warnings are not only what goes on your MVR,.. but your CSA score as well. Its a messed up system. You can get a ticket,.. get it dismissed in court. But it will not be dismissed from your CSA. Insurance looks at your CSA and MVR.
A companies insurance will have final say on who gets hired and who does not. No company wants a driver that is going to raise the companies over all CSA Score. That will raise their insurance and cost them money.
I would suggest you suck it up for now and keep your nose clean until ALL the points are off your record. Then with a clean sheet you will have a better leg to stand on when you start looking for companies to hire on with.
HurstLepton1 Thanks this.
