In light of Walmart's phone policy and its unintended consequences, and now the cameras you all apparently have coming, that horse may have already left the barn.
Walmart here I come!

In my humble opinion, many businesses have phone policies in some form or manner. Look at our stores for example. Your not allowed to have your phone on you if you work out on the sales floor.
Same goes for the cameras. Majority of businesses have cameras now for "security" purposes. The cameras are coming, just a matter of time. It isn't because they don't trust us. It has to do with lawyers. Last I checked, the name on the door says Walmart. They are going to do what they feel necessary to protect their business. If anything, the camera will do two things. 1 make driver be honest about their driving and 2 help back you if you are involved in an accident.
There are many things in this industry that we have not liked. Many changes have happened and will continue to happen. As a professional driver, you either learn to adapt to these new changes or make our own change whether it's deciding to be your own boss or leave the industry entirely. I personally have in this for 19 years. I enjoy what I do. It provides a steady income for me and my family. I plan to adapt to the changes as they come. Even if I'm not comfortable with them. -
Drozzer69, I couldn't agree more.drozzer69 Thanks this. -
As for cameras...I have my own and always will, regardless of whether or not my truck will have one, because it covers my ###! Video doesn't lie. My feeling is, anyone against cameras probably shouldn't be here, because if you drive safe and legal, you shouldn't have anything to worry about. I would ask anyone against them, what are you afraid of? Drive like the pro you are, keep your #### hand off your phone, and go home the same way you came in...alive and employed. Before I transferred, we had two drivers fired for texting. Really? Was the message THAT important? I look at it like this...Wal-Mart is giving me all the necessary tools to be successful, to keep me safe and legal, and they pay me very very well, so all I have to do is follow a few rules and smile every other Thursday! And it's a big smile!Last edited: May 23, 2017

NYVET, amen to that sir! -
The way I keep my self out of trouble with the cell is, before I leave the terminal i turn it off and throw it on the bunk. Buy doing that it's out of reach, out of mind. That way there is no temptation to grab it. When I stop, and am on duty, is the only time it's on, or on my 10.
drozzer69 and BackIsSore Thank this. -
